What Are Ugandan Vanilla Beans?
Ugandan vanilla beans are among the finest vanilla varieties globally, cultivated in Uganda's nutrient-rich volcanic soils. These beans are sun-cured using traditional methods, producing plump, moist, and richly aromatic pods. Known for their distinctive flavor, Ugandan vanilla beans carry notes of chocolate, fig, and smoky caramel, making them ideal for gourmet baking, extract making, and culinary infusions.
Benefits of Using Grade A Vanilla Beans
- High Moisture Content (28–33%): Ensures soft, flexible vanilla beans that are easy to split and yield maximum seeds for flavor extraction.
- Superior Vanillin Content (>2%): Provides an intense, authentic vanilla flavor unmatched by lower-grade beans.
- Versatility in Use: Perfect for baking, making vanilla extract, infusing beverages, and flavoring creams and sauces.
- Ethical and Sustainable Sourcing: Directly sourced from Ugandan farmers committed to sustainable farming and fair trade.
- Vacuum-Sealed Packaging: Maintains freshness, aroma, and flavor for up to 18 months, reducing spoilage.

How to Make Homemade Vanilla Extract
- Split the Beans: Use 6–8 Grade A vanilla beans, split lengthwise to expose seeds.
- Combine with Alcohol: Place beans in a sterilized glass jar and cover with 1 cup (8 oz) of vodka, bourbon, or rum.
- Seal and Store: Keep the jar sealed in a cool, dark place, shaking weekly.
- Wait for Flavor Development: Allow it to steep for at least 6 months for rich, concentrated flavor.
- Use: Add homemade extract to recipes for a natural, deep vanilla taste.

FAQs
What are wholesale vanilla beans?
Wholesale vanilla beans are sold in bulk quantities—typically 1 lb or more—for commercial use in bakeries, restaurants, or by home extract makers. These are often Grade A vanilla beans with high moisture and vanillin content, ideal for consistent, high-quality flavor.
What makes Grade A vanilla beans better for wholesale buyers?
Grade A vanilla beans are longer (6–8 inches), more pliable, and have higher moisture (28–33%). This ensures stronger flavor extraction, higher vanillin content, and better performance for baking, brewing, and manufacturing.
What is the vanillin content of your wholesale vanilla beans?
Our Grade A Ugandan vanilla beans have a vanillin content of over 2%, giving them an intense, naturally sweet vanilla aroma that’s superior to many competitors.

This company was one of the fastest shipping. Shipped out the next day and got it very quickly. I ordered the Uganda beans. I got them one other time from a different company and loved them! They are very different from Madagascar in my opinion. They have such a soft but strong smell, it really put me at odds with which bean I liked better between Madagascar, Tahitian or Uganda. These are packed very well and I can smell them through the bag. Haven’t opened them yet. I am planning on vacuum sealing some of them individually and giving as a gift on my vendor craft table if you spend a certain amount of money ( vanilla extracts and specialty extracts and infused sugars).
These are the most delicious beans ever. I have tasted many different types of vanilla beans from other countries and Uganda is my absolute favorite!!!!
I have been buying beans from various vendors and will always come back to NY Vanilla! Your beans are simply the best! Fresh, juicy and full of flavor!
High quality beans. Always fresh. Fast shipping!
The beans were supposed to be grade A, but they were dry and shriveled compared to ones I have bought at other companies. I would have expected these to be Grade B. The price was low, so I guess yoyu get what you pay for. If you are looking for a good price on Grade B beans for extract, buy the suoosed Grade A ones.
